His enthusiasm and knowledge surpassed any other tour manager I've had on other tours not with your company the coach driver was excellent too very good and careful driver.

The tour manager Alex was excellent, his knowledge of Provence was outstanding and he was very interesting to listen to. Alex had a really good sense of humour and engaged easily with all of the people on the tour. This was our sixth holiday with you and our second time with Alex. He is an excellent and very well informed tour guide, in addition to being great company. My birthday occurred whilst we were away and I was delighted when Alex arranged a stop for a glass of wine and for my fellow travellers to sing Happy Birthday to me.

However, my husband and I were very disappointed with the French Rail Service. In the past the journeys have always been pleasurable. On the outward journey the catering facility was very limited. On the return via TGV, it was non-existant. Had we been aware of this at Avignon, we could have purchased food and drink for this long journey. There was no prior warning of a total lack of catering. We appreciate this is beyond your control but makes us very wary of another train based holiday.

Lovely trip, made even better by our very knowledgable guide Alex and driver Frederick. Hotel very welcoming, a bit old fashioned in decor and room design but comfortable. Avignon a perfect base for exploring Provence and delightful location in its own right.

We were blessed with an excellent tour guide whose knowledge and enthusiasm for the area were infectious. It would take at least a week to do justice to each of the venues we visited but the tour gave a fascinating overview of the area. Alex, our guide, was excellent. He could answer any question on birds, plants , history etc. However, the train , TGV, we travelled back on from Avignon to Lille was not good, there was no room for luggage, so the cases had to be hoisted overhead and the toilets were not clean Alex Patrimonio was an excellent leader who gave so much to the tour and added value to the holiday.

He and his driver,Fred, gave full of their time each day and nothing was any trouble to them. Great tour to Avignon and Provence. Provence by Rail was an excellent holiday. We were lucky to have Alex our wonderful Anglophile tour guide who enhanced the holiday with his enthusiasm and knowledge.

I must also mention Frederique our excellent driver who also went the extra mile for us. Lovely holiday made extra special by Alex, the Tour Leader who was so knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. A very enjoyable holiday, Alex our tour manager was excellent, well informed on the history and natural history of Provence which added to the enjoyment of our trip. This was an excellent tour to beautiful Provence in perfect weather. The itinerary was nicely varied with visits to picturesque hilltop villages, buzzing local market towns and well preserved remains of impressive Roman sites and monuments, whilst meandering through some magnificent scenery.

The Luberon and Les Alpilles were particularly attractive. The journeys were greatly enhanced by Alex, our excellent tour manager, with his informative commentaries on the culture, history and wildlife of the area as well as his many amusing anecdotes. We also found Avignon a very good base with a wide choice of excellent restaurants. Our only criticism is that we did not have enough time at the Pont du Gard to appreciate the new museum there with superb exhibits of the construction methods used by the Romans and which depicted the complete route of the aqueduct from Uzes to Nimes.

We enjoyed the holiday. Never been to the south of France before. Hours in Axis seemed over kill, such an early started too. We would like to travel with your company again and sure we will in the near future.

A really lovely tour that we would be happy to repeat. Angela was an excellent tour manager who was a pleasure to be with. Her love of France shone through as did her detailed knowledge of the area and we were all entertained by her many anecdotes. We were lucky both with the glorious weather and the friendly group we were with.

Eirlys and Mike Plumb. Her commentary informative and full of anecdotes. Large group of 33 was a shocker, but everyone was accommodating and very friendly, especially to the 3 solo travelers. The destinations were unexpected joys, particularly Gordes, and the thrilling vistas we saw on foto stops.

Blessed with fine weather. Lots of opportunities to take off for independent mini-adventures. Lovely holiday with excellent manager, Gerard and driver Didier. Nice small group of A wonderful holiday.

Not too fast a pace and the places visited were well chosen and not too far to travel, including some gems that we would have missed had we not been part of this tour. Gerard was so knowledgeable in so may fields, we feel lucky to have had his services on our tour. Absolutely first rate! Tour Manager Gerard was excellent, supremely knowledgeable, entertaining and friendly. Coach driver Didier had a delightful personality and was a first class driver.

Our guide, Angela, was excellent. Helpful, entertaining, and a mine of information about the places we visited and she included a few visits extra to the itinerary, which were well worth seeing.

Altogether a great holiday despite unsettled weather. Would recommend. Great tour manager, one of the friendliest hotels I have stayed in -and so central. Very good sized group. Great holiday. Very good holiday with excellent, experienced tour manager. Staff at the Bristol hotel were friendly and obliging.

Would have preferred to have spent longer in Arles and less time in Saintes-Maries. Very good journey to Avignon by Eurostar. Return journey by TGV our seats were double booked - uncomfortable journey in the luggage compartment - very poor! Eurostar at Lille hold up over tickets. We were delighted to have Karen as our tour manager again.

She has a lightness of touch and is very efficient. She had a lot of problems to contend with on our journey home.
